Louis Sidoli was the first artist to combine pop-art portraiture with neon art. He had long admired neon works by artists such as Tracey Emin, Bruce Nauman and Chris Bracey, which inspired him to use neon as an artistic medium in his own work. His iconic portraits, first produced in 2015 have taken the art world by storm and also inspired many other artists to use the medium.
Each original neon artwork starts life as a pencil sketch and is then constructed from around 180 individual components, using the highest quality premium materials such as the solid English oak frame and hand blown glass neon tubes. The surface of the artwork is made from high grade polished, anodised aluminium - the same material your Apple i-phone is made from, to ensure resistance to scratches and marks. All the components are elegantly encased in the slimline frameless artwork and even the power lead is made from bespoke fabric cable.
