Louis Sidoli was the first artist to combine pop-art portraiture with neon art. His iconic portraits, first produced in 2015 have taken the art world by storm and also inspired many other artists to use the medium.
The inspiration came from both Andy Warhol's 1970's / 80's ‘celebrity portraits’ and neon artists such as Tracey Emin, Bruce Nauman and Dan Flavin, who Louis had long admired. The result is a fusion of these two completely different genres.
Each artwork features a solid oak frame, hand blown neon glass tubes and even the power lead is a custom made fabric design.
The surface of the artwork is high grade polished, anodised aluminium - the same material your Apple i-phone is made from, to ensure resistance to scratches and marks.
